District Captains
The Southwest Southern District has three elected District Captains who report to the District Chief of Staff.
The Southwest Southern District is supported by three elected District Captains who report to the District Chief of Staff and provide leadership for designated divisions.
Each District Captain serves as an important link between district leadership and the Division Commanders within their assigned area. They help promote effective communication, coordination, and cooperation among Auxiliary units; support the fulfillment of district priorities; and provide guidance to ensure that divisions and flotillas have the resources and leadership needed to successfully carry out their missions.
District Captain Robert Hamming
Captain Hamming oversees Morro Bay south to Santa Monica Bay.
Three Divisions fall under his command:
- Division 07, Morro Bay south to Ventura County, including Channel Islands.
- Division 12, Los Angeles County south to Santa Monica Bay.
- Division 04, San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys.
District Captain Rudy Lopez Jr.
Captain Lopez’s area of responsibility covers three Divisions within Los Angeles, Orange, western San Bernardino and western Riverside Counties:
- Division 05, Los Angeles Harbor and South Bay.
- Division 06, Orange County.
- Division 11, The Inland Empire waters of western Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
District Captain Leslie Pelosi
Captain Pelosi leads three Divisions in her area of responsibility:
- Division 01, San Diego County.
- Division 09, Colorado River basin through Arizona, Nevada and California.
- Division 10, the greater Arizona and desert areas.
