The current Director of Auxiliary (DIRAUX) for the Southwest Southern District (Eleventh District, Southern Region) is CDR Christina Jones.

The DIRAUX is a commissioned officer of the United States Coast Guard tasked with assisting the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary through the active duty Coast Guard. The DIRAUX is also the Chief of the District Board. This board’s role is to include implementation of established Coast Guard and Auxiliary policy within the district. They assist and the DCO to develop and carry out policy on the district level.

The union of Auxiliary and Coast Guard leadership into one board allows its leaders to choose the best route for both the Coast Guard and for the Auxiliary to pursue its goals in serving the people of the United States in:

• Promoting Boating Safety
• Unite the active duty Coast Guard and Auxiliary units to promote safety and security in our nation’s waterways.
•  Develop and support the interests of the Coast Guard
