Biography of Commodore Rodney Donohoo


Commodore Donohoo joined the Auxiliary in 2013. Since joining the Auxiliary, Commodore Donohoo has held every elected leadership position in the District, including Flotilla and Division Commander, as well as District Captain and Chief of Staff.
As a licensed attorney, he has previously served for several years as an Assistant District Legal Officer. He currently serves as District Commodore for the Southwest District, Southern Region for the 2025-2026 term. Commodore Donohoo received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alaska, where he graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in justice and served as a police officer in Alaska prior to attending law school. Commodore Donohoo graduated magna cum laude from California Western School of Law with a juris doctorate degree, and was Managing Editor of both the Law Review and International Law Journal. Commodore Donohoo received his California State Bar license in 1989 and has practiced law throughout California for the last 36 years, primarily in the area of business litigation and corporate governance and business transactions. As a trial
attorney, he has obtained numerous multi million dollars verdicts and settlements. He has also previously served as Judge Pro Tem of the San Diego Superior Court, and has received numerous professional awards and recognition, including a rating of AV
Preeminent, the the highest possible rating for legal ability and ethical standards. He also received multiple year recognition in Super Lawyers, and in America’s Top Lawyers and San Diego’s Top Attorneys. As a licensed Athlete Agent, Commodore Donohoo
has also represented numerous mixed martial artists, including top UFC fighters, and actively competes in Jiu Jitsu tournaments throughout the country. Commodore Donohoo and his wife Danielle reside in San Diego, California, and have three grown children.
